Depending on several factors, including; ambient humidity, humidor seal tightness, how frequently you open and close the humidor, the hydration level of the cigars you add/remove. You can expect to have to add water anywhere from several weeks to several months.

What is the ideal humidity level for storing cigars?
The recommended relative humidity level for storing cigars is between 60% and 70% RH. The Humidity Bead System® is designed for maximum efficiency in recovering RH levels between 60% and 70% RH.

Will I need to add 50/50 (aka "PG") solution to the Humidity Bead System®?
No. The Humidity Bead System® simply uses water (distilled water preferred) and should not be used in conjunction with any other humidifying device.

Will the Humidity Bead System® dry out like salt packs and need to replaced every 6 months?
No. You simply add a little distilled water to the Humidity Bead System® if your relative humidity drops.

Will the Humidity Bead System® ever need replacing?
Depending on the impurity level in the water you add to the Humidity Bead System®, you can expect it to last anywhere between 1 and 5 years. For best results, distilled water is recommended but not necessary.
